But I can still send him in the pool. =)

I throw my daughter like that, but she’s getting big. Not sure I got that height anymore. That said, not sure I’ve ever seen a picture.
Edit: showed wife picture, she said "you're awfully close". Head height probably the same, but I don't get her horizontal. That way she had a chance to land in her feet if I fuck up (knocks on all the wood).

I’ve never gone that high. I’d scare the hell out of them.

I have a great picture of my firstborn this high or higher, too. =)
I’ve never dropped one... but I did get awfully close one time. I was flinging/swinging, not tossing, and my daughter went... past 180. I held on, and turned, and wrenched my back pretty good, but managed to bring her down easy.

Not sure if my daughter ever let me get her this high, but both of my boys did.
Scared the shit out of my mother-in-law, though. =)

My Dad was bouncing my younger brother on his knee and swinging him above his head. Was going great until he put his head through the window behind the couch.

Yes!
[the way my
mother-in-law saw it

There was a hubub a few years ago over a dad throwing a kid in an advertisement. Turns out it was photoshopped.
I used to do that with my kids. Now my son is taller than me. He’s starting to push me physically. I may be 33 years older than him, but I can still beat him in arm wrestling!

I kinda feel sorry for kids that don’t get tossed, tickled, wrestled with.
My oldest is 13. I’m still a foot taller than him, and have...
many
pounds on him, but he’s getting muscular and likes to start stuff (doesn’t much like when I finish it - ha! He’s like me - won’t say “uncle”.
). He won’t arm wrestle me yet, but I’m sure that’s coming.

I agree. It’s an important part of physical development.
My son took JiuJitsu for a while, so he liked to try his moves on me. He always forgot that I weighed at least twice as much as he did. Now he’s getting closer to my weight, but he still has a long way to go. He was bragging about doing squats the other day and insinuated that I couldn’t match him. So, I put him in a fireman’s carry and did the squats with him on my shoulders. He tried to do it with the dog on his shoulders (Rocky weighs 70 lbs) and gave up pretty quickly. He may be tall, but he’s not stout.

Last one, I promise.

when I was 12 or so, a friend of mine and I were swimming in his backyard pool and we thought it would be fun to throw his little brother in. We grabbed him by the arms and legs and started swinging. Somehow, we got the count off and I let go before he did. The back of h is brother’s head hit the edge of the deck before he sank to the bottom leaving a bloody trail behind. We both jumped in and pulled him up. As soon as his head cleared the water, he started screaming. Their mom came running.
That was pretty much the end of the day’s fun. His brother was fine. The cut wasn’t too bad and he never lost consciousness.
That event led to me taking a hard line on horseplay when I became a lifeguard.

My kids have pretty much never been carsick, so there’s that.
And my 7 year-old was fearless getting onto a chairlift with us just a week ago.
Glad my son never took martial arts - ha! Good to see the “old man”’s still got it. I’m actually hoping to get back into weight training with him
and get more fit as he goes through his teen years.

I used to toss my son like that. He is now 16 and he is 4 inches taller than me. He can pick me up more easily than I can lift him.
Although I miss having a small kid around, he is 16 now, so he now gets to learn about cars from the driver’s seat.

I hope my son ends up as tall as (or taller than) me! He’s 13 and still a foot shorter, but he’s a late bloomer like I was. My wife’s
5'2"...
He’s
getting strong, but he’s got a way to go before he’s stronger. I’m sure that will be here before I know it.
I’ve still got a 7 year old still (the one pictured), happily. He still likes to cuddle and tickle-fight, but those days are nearing an end, too, probably.
One of my brother’s kids just announced that they were having a kid. I guess it all comes full circle again at some point.

It’s amazing any of us survived.
